Hockey at Roblin Park Community Centre

Roblin Park Community Centre has a vibrant hockey program and is a member club of the Assiniboine Park Hockey Association (APHA).

The club is home to three outdoor rinks and a clubhouse. We offer hockey programs to girls and boys ages 5-17.
All hockey programming is administered by our hockey convenor Kevin Schiller.

NEW FOR 2017/18! Assiniboine Park Hockey Association (APHA) has re-branded the male hockey program this season! All APHA male hockey teams (excluding house league and the AA Ranger program) now fall under the “Winter Hawks” name and branding. This will be consistent through all male hockey in the APHA regardless of the community club that hosts a particular age group. New Adidas Pro jerseys and uniforms have been purchased and they look amazing!

2017/18 APHA hockey registration and volunteer sign-up

Hockey season is almost here! We've booked dates for our in-person hockey registration and volunteer sign-up.

Saturday, September 9th 12:00pm - 4pm

Monday, September 11th 12:00pm - 4pm

Reminder that you must register online at the Assiniboine Park Hockey Association website before in-person registration. You may also be required to complete the Respect in Sport program. Print your receipt and bring a copy to the club on a registration day to complete your registration. We will not be accepting cheques for registration this year, only cash.

We'll also be looking to fill volunteer shifts for various programs and events throughout the season. Roblin Park Community Centre relies on volunteers to keep programs running. We need your support!

Commitment Bond required

To complete youth hockey, all participating families must post a $200 volunteer commitment bond (one per family) and commit to two volunteer shifts (either a Rob/West Tournament shift OR a Winter Carnival shift, PLUS a canteen shift)

Commitment bond cheques must be submitted before any player can go on the ice for tryouts.

Jackrabbits Hockey

Stay tuned for 2017 / 18 registration details, usually in November.

Jackrabbits is a fun and non-competitive introduction into hockey and learning basic skating skills. The recommended age is 5-8 years old. We skate outdoors at Roblin Park Community Centre every Saturday from 2:30 - 4 pm (weather permitting) starting as soon as we have outdoor ice and we skate until the first week in March.

Throughout the year we will have fun tournaments with other Jackrabbits teams from other community centres and we finish with a wind-up where every child receives a trophy.

The program costs $85 for the season and also requires a volunteer commitment to the community club. The only equipment that is mandatory is a helmet with mask, skates and a stick. Some kids prefer to have full hockey equipment as this lessens the impact of a fall or a collision with another child.

Female Hockey

The APHA (Assiniboine Park Hockey Association) provides girls of all ages with a place to experience the great Canadian game of hockey. We have a competitive tiered program for all ages from Novice (8 and under) through Midget, including AA/AAA teams. APHA female teams are created on an area wide basis (our area includes Phoenix, Westdale, Roblin Park, Varsity View, and C4) and play out of one home rink that will be determined after tryouts, which are held near the end of September.

All levels of skill are welcome – new female players of all ages take up this fun sport every year!
