CAREER OPPORTUNITY

Roblin Park Community Centre is looking for an experienced and dynamic individual to lead our
children’s programs, which consists of a nursery program, before and after school-age care, as
well as a kindergarten age program. We’re looking for someone who can use their creative
energy in developing a strategic vision for the program and possesses enthusiasm,
professionalism, and exceptional organization skills and flexibility in order to manage the
centre’s evolving operations.

Position

DIRECTOR
Roblin Park Community Centre Children’s Programs
Early Childhood Educator (III)
Full-Time

Closing Date: February 28, 2018

Duties

• The successful candidate will oversee the daily management of the centre including
administration and financial management as well as all aspects of high-quality early
learning and child care programming in a community centre environment.
• The incumbent will interact with the children, families, staff, other child care providers
and various levels of government.
• The Director reports to the governing Board of Directors of Roblin Park Community
Centre and will play a key role in the development of both short and long term strategic
plans for Roblin Park Community Centre Children's Programs.

Essential Qualifications and Requirements

• Must be qualified as an ECE III
• Minimum of 5 years recent experience as a Director of a childcare program (preschool
and school age).
• Must have valid certification in Emergency Child Care First Aid and CPR.
• Must produce a satisfactory Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Search, and
Child Abuse Registry Check.
• A high-degree of professionalism, management and administrative skills, combined with
an excellent knowledge of relevant government regulations.
• An in-depth knowledge of the principles of early childhood development and learning.
• Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, and evaluate programming.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to support and motivate staff.
• Effective interpersonal skills working with children, staff, families, community, peers,
and government bodies.
• Ability to prioritize and organize work demands in a high stress environment.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, accounting software, and payroll services.
• Experience managing finance including preparing budget reports, identifying and
pursuing funding sources, coordinating subsidy and collection of fees.
• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
• Must have a valid driver's license, access to a vehicle and ability to travel on daycare
business within the City of Winnipeg.
• Must be available to work outside of regular business hours, as required to fulfill the
employment duties.

Assets
• A relevant credential in Management (post-secondary education).
• Preferred Advanced Diploma in Leadership in Early Childhood Care and Education.
• Expresses the ability to utilize technology for the purpose of enhancing productivity and
efficiency. For example: website development, social media child care web-applications.
• Program expansion experience.
